Event Details Music Concert Date: 4/19/2008 Time: 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm Location: Seaside UMC, 1300 Seaside Rd SW, Sunset Beach, NC 28468 (View Map) Description: A major Spring event will take place at Seaside United Methodist Church on Saturday April 19th at 4:00 pm. Choir Director Kathryn Parker has arranged for nationally recognized composer/director Pepper Choplin to personally direct four combined choirs at Seaside. In addition to Seaside’s choirs there will be choirs from, Ocean View Baptist, Calabash Presbyterian and Camp United Methodist Churches. Mr. Choplin will be directing up to 175 singers.Pepper Choplin is no stranger to North Carolina, or large groups. He is a native of North Carolina, where he received his music education at UNC Greensboro. He later earned his Master’s Degree in music composition from Southwestern Baptist Seminary in Fort Worth, TX. His leadership in ministerial music began at Myrtle Grove Baptist Church in Wilmington. He currently resides in Raleigh with his wife, Heather, and children, Kelcy, and Erin. He is serving as Minister of Music at Greystone Baptist Church which has about 650 members. An accomplished singer and instrumentalist, this busy music minister has found time to compose over 50 choral anthems and release his own music CD, s. Choir Director Parker has used his compositions in several past choir performances.The public is invited to this performance and there is no charge.
